Longstocking Table

Dyed maple plywood, hand dyed handwoven cotton
32″ x 50″ x 15″

The Longstocking Table is named as such because after I applied the yellow dye to the legs, it really looked like bent knees wearing striped knee socks. This table was made for an artwork trade with my sculptor friend, Mark Leichliter at Exocubic Studio. I got a sweet stainless steel sculpture out of the deal. I was so excited when Mark picked these colors because I love pink and yellow together. I especially love how my handwoven fabric details on the drawer fronts interact with the striped endgrain tiles that surround them. Ever since the Reliquary for the Future, I had been wanting to make tables with bent legs. This is my first foray into the crouching table realm. Me likey.
