Handsome Hall Table

Dyed Baltic birch and maple plywoods, hand dyed handwoven cotton, glass

32″ x 48″ x 12″

The fabric on this table weaves over and under separate pieces of wood down the center of the top. The fabric can be seen draping underneath the table top and hangs off the ends. A piece of 1/4″ thick glass sits on top the recessed center of the table, sitting flush with the sides of the top to protect the fabric. I used a limited color palette on this piece: only grey and red-violet. The little drawer has a red-violet handle that matches red-violet details dyed into the fabric. The inside of the drawer is also red-violet for a little blast of unexpected color when opened. The feet on this piece have stripes that are perpendicular to the vertical stripes on the rest of the legs. I love this detail and it’s the first time I’ve ever done this. This tall, narrow design is made to go up against a wall or sofa. The Handsome Hall Table is available for sale, priced at $3490. Please contact the artist for more information.
