This sculpture is the seventh in a series of abstract sculptures. The vertical part of this one is attached to the base with rare earth magnets. The only reason for this is because I love magnets. I made HooDoo7 at the same time as HooDoo8 and HooDoo9. They all utilize a pair of offcuts that result from the creation of hall table legs like those on the Black Tie Hall Table.
HooDoos are named after the eroded stone shapes of the same name, found in Colorado and Utah, among other places outside of the US. Like the wall pieces I make, these are made from offcuts and scraps leftover from other projects. These little sculptures are playgrounds for toying with color, texture, and mixed materials. I have to say, Hoo Doos are ridiculously fun to make.
